Boston.com: On the Heels of ‘Hamilton,’ ‘Dear Evan Hansen’ Will Make its Boston Debut

Broadway In Boston just announced its 2018-2019 season.

2017’s biggest Tony Award winner, “Dear Evan Hansen,” will make its Boston debut as part of Broadway In Boston’s 2018-2019 season. The show, about a high school senior who tells a series of lies in order to fit in, also received a 2018 Grammy Award for best musical theater album. It will run from July 10 to Aug. 4, 2019 at the Boston Opera House.

The Broadway In Boston season will also feature performances of “The Play That Goes Wrong” (Nov. 7-18, 2018), “Roald Dahl’s Charlie and the Chocolate Factory” (Jan. 8-20, 2019), “Beautiful: The Carole King Musical” (Jan. 29-Feb. 10, 2019), “School of Rock” (Feb. 12-24, 2019), “The Illusionists” (March 5-10, 2019), “A Bronx Tale” (April 2-14, 2019), “Les Miserables” (April 16-28, 2019), “Kinky Boots” (May 7-12, 2019), “Miss Saigon” (June 12-30, 2019), and “Hello, Dolly!” (Aug. 6-18, 2019).

The season was unveiled on Monday at Broadway In Boston’s annual spring announcement, attended by approximately 1,500 people, including season ticket holders, city officials, sponsors, and media.

Subscriptions for renewing subscribers are currently on sale for a series package that includes “The Play That Goes Wrong,” “Roald Dahl’s Charlie and the Chocolate Factory,” “School of Rock,” “A Bronx Tale,” “Miss Saigon,” “Dear Evan Hansen,” and “Hello, Dolly!”

New subscriptions will be available later this spring. Information regarding public on-sales will be announced at a later date.

Broadway In Boston’s 2017-2018 season was much anticipated, as it includes the Broadway smash hit “Hamilton.” You can currently sign up for notifications and be alerted when single tickets are available to the public for the Lin-Manuel Miranda-created musical, which will run at the Boston Opera House from Sept. 18 to Nov. 18.
