Stages of Rehydration

As October turned to November, my skin turned from dry to the Sahara. As soon as I wash and dry my face each morning and night, my skin tightens to a painful sting. If it could speak, it would be screaming "moisturizer!!!"

My first step after patting my freshly washed face is using the Mario Badescu Ceramide Herbal Eye Cream on my under eyes and eyelids. The thick cream always gives a cooling sensation to my eyes, leaving my eye area feeling softer and less puffy.

To calm my patchy dry cheeks and forehead, I've been using Glossier's Super Bounce serum. The Hyaluronic Acid and Vitamin B5 serum claims to soothe and soften dry skin. After dabbing it in, I let the serum dry before moving on to the Glossier Balm Dotcom skin salve.

Next in my rehydration routine is Cetaphil's moisturizing lotion for the body and face. I have a few favorite moisturizers, but I somehow always come back to this one during the dry weather. A little goes a long way with this stuff. The lotion is fast absorbing and leaves the skin feeling soft to the touch. It has a somewhat oily finish, but dry skin soaks it up within an hour.

Lastly, I always pop some NIVEA chapstick on my lips and sometimes layer it on top of the Balm Dotcom salve. This lip balm has a smooth formula absorbs in to make cracked lips feel hydrated.

I am still struggling with curing my dry skin, but these combinations have improved my skin and allowed me to comfortably apply makeup without my skin flaking or cracking throughout the day. If you have any overnight, miracle skin tips, please share!
